Next-Generation Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Swaps V8 for 4-Cylinder Engine

The V8 is dead, long-live the high-strung electrified 4-cylinder engine for the next AMG E 63

  • Like the C 63, the next E 63 S will be a PHEV.

The Next Mercedes-AMG C 63 Will Be A 600HP+ PHEV

Mercedes-Benz announced a few months ago that the V8 engine was essentially dead for the North American market in 2022. Despite the somewhat disappointing news, the promised 600+ horsepower output should make it an easy pill to swallow.

This news was predictable and has been confirmed by Autocar: The next-generation Mercedes-AMG E 63 S will also be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with plug-in hybrid technology.
