The new Nissan Leaf will offer up to 214 horsepower.
Cabin insulation will be improved for a quieter ride.
The turning radius will be reduced to enhance agility.
Up to 214 Horsepower
The new Nissan Leaf will be powered by what the brand calls its “3-in-1” electric powertrain, which combines the motor, reducer, and inverter into a single compact unit. Output is rated at up to 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque.

Nissan’s engineering team has also optimized the Leaf’s battery thermal management system. Waste heat from the onboard charger can now be repurposed to warm the battery, which helps maintain performance and regenerative braking capability in cold weather.
A Quieter Cabin
Nissan promises improved cabin insulation for the next Leaf, enhancing the overall driving experience. At a speed of 50 km/h, cabin noise has been reduced by two decibels compared to the second-generation Leaf.

The Japanese automaker has also redesigned the layout of the climate control system. Previously located behind the instrument panel, the HVAC unit has now been moved under the hood. Thanks to the smaller size of the new electric motor, this change frees up additional interior space.
Built on the CMF-EV Platform
The next-generation Leaf will ride on the CMF-EV platform, which is designed to enhance comfort and agility. Even with standard 19-inch wheels, the new model boasts a turning radius that’s 10 centimetres tighter than the outgoing version.

Handling should also benefit from a new multi-link rear suspension setup, which increases lateral rigidity by 66 %.
The official reveal of the 2026 Nissan Leaf is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
