Six months ago, NIO, a Chinese automaker, launched the ES8, a 7-passenger full-size sport utility vehicle. Since then, the Chinese brand has sold nearly 10,000 of them we learned, at the NIO Day 2018.
During the same event, NIO announced the ES6, its all-new high-performance electric SUV.
The NIO ES6 is available with an 84kWh battery and can do the 0-100 km/h in a mere 4.7 seconds all the while having a range of over 510 km.
Two versions are offered, standard and performance, with a starting price of $69,500 CAD (358,000 yuan) and $77,200 CAD (398,000 yuan) respectively. Deliveries for both these models will begin in June 2019.
The manufacturer has also let it be known that the NIO ES8, which was only sold until now with a 70kWh battery, will be available with the 84kWh pack. That being said, NIO announced that the ES8 supports upgrading to the 84kWh battery. A 6-seater version of the ES8 was revealed with preorders starting on December 24th and deliveries starting at the end of March 2019.
