Nissan Adds 17,800 Tesla Superchargers to Charging Network

  • Nissan ARIYA owners gain access to 17,800 Tesla Superchargers through new NACS adapter starting December 10

  • NACS adapter kit available for CA$309.99 through dealers, with native NACS ports coming in 2025

  • MyNISSAN app provides integrated charging management across expanded network of over 125,000 stations

Nissan is expanding its charging infrastructure as ARIYA drivers gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network starting December 10. The expansion adds 17,800 Tesla Superchargers to the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network (NECN), bringing the total to more than 100,000 public chargers in the United States and 25,000 in Canada.

Adapter Kit Opens Door to Expanded Network

ARIYA owners can now order a Nissan-provided North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter kit through Nissan dealers for CA$309.99, with online ordering becoming available soon through Nissan.ca. The company plans to streamline the charging process further by integrating NACS ports directly into its electric vehicles for the Canadian and U.S. markets starting in 2025.

The expanded NECN now encompasses multiple charging providers across North America. In Canada, the network includes ChargeHub, Shell Recharge, FLO, Chargepoint, Circuit Electrique, BC Hydro, and the IVY branded network. U.S. coverage includes Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo networks.

ARIYA owners can manage their charging experience through the MyNISSAN app, which provides real-time charging station availability, monitoring capabilities, and integrated payment options. The app consolidates vehicle management and public charging functions, allowing users to store payment information and initiate charging sessions with a single tap at compatible stations within the NECN. This functionality is currently exclusive to ARIYA owners, while Nissan LEAF owners can access charging locations through the separate NissanConnect EV and Services app.

2024 Nissan ARIYA

The 2024 ARIYA starts at CA$49,998 and offers two battery configurations: a 63-kWh and an 87-kWh version, providing up to 465 kilometres of range. The electric crossover delivers between 214 and 389 horsepower, with available e-4ORCE all-wheel drive. The e-4ORCE system manages front and rear torque distribution and applies independent brake control at each wheel to optimize cornering and handling.
