This application is available on all Nissan and Infiniti models equipped with Google Built-in.
A three-minute audio test allows audio settings to be adjusted based on individual preferences.
Multiple “Personalized Sound” profiles can be saved in the vehicle.
To improve the listening experience in its vehicles, Nissan is launching the Personalized Sound application on the Google Play platform.
This technology is available on all Nissan and Infiniti models equipped with the Google built-in infotainment system: the 2024 and newer Rogue, the 2025 and newer Armada, Murano, and QX80, as well as the 2026 and newer Leaf and QX60.
After downloading the application to their vehicle, drivers will be guided through an audio test lasting approximately three minutes where they will need to answer a few questions regarding their preferences.
These answers will allow the application to adjust the settings of a ten-band audio equalizer with frequencies ranging between 50 hertz and 1200 hertz.
According to Nissan, this not only makes the audio experience more enjoyable but can also counter certain hearing impairments by personalizing settings for each listener, similar to what is possible with high-end headphones.

To ensure this personalized experience is available to multiple drivers, it is possible to save Personalized Sound profiles, one of which can be selected as a favorite.
Unlike most automotive applications available on Google Play, the development of Personalized Sound was not outsourced. In fact, Nissan handled the creation of this technology entirely in-house, a process that took about 18 months.
Since it is a standard Android application, the Personalized Sound code could not be integrated directly into the vehicle’s audio system. Instead, the code is designed to intercept signals before they reach the speakers, thereby offering an enhanced auditory experience without modifying the vehicle’s system.
Unusually, a high-end audio system is not required to reap the benefits of Personalized Sound.
Nissan and Infiniti are currently the only automotive brands to offer such a system to drivers.
