Nissan Canada Slashes Price for Most of Its 2026 Ariya

Nissan Canada just announced price adjustments for its 2026 Ariya SUV. Good news and a rare occurrence, we’re mostly seeing reductions across the lineup.

  • The base version sees its price increase by $3,000

  • The three most upscale variants benefit from a $4,600 reduction

  • The Nissan Ariya will be exclusive to Canada and Mexico in North America in 2026

At the same time, the nomenclature changes. It transitions from original to mundane, meaning that Nissan is removing the original names it had given to the Ariya’s versions to adopt the brand’s well-known codes, such as SV, SL, and so on.

Thus, for the base version, which we knew as the Ariya Engage FWD (and accounts for 24 % of the model’s sale so far this year in Canada), the new designation is simply SV FWD3.

In this variant’s case, there’s a price increase, as the MSRP goes from $49,998 to $52,898, a significant jump of $3,000 for the entry point.

Fortunately, there’s good news to follow, as price reductions start with the SL variant (formerly Evolve). For the second model in the lineup, therefore, the Ariya SL e-4orce, the new price is $53,998. The reduction here is $3,000.

Frankly, with the opportunity to get all-wheel drive for a mere $1,000, we can guess where buyers will gravitate. Note that these first two models feature the smaller 63 kWh battery, which results in a lower range of 348 km and 330 km, respectively, for the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.

Then come three other variants, this time equipped with the 87 kWh battery, which naturally offers more range (between 430 km and 465 km). We find the SL FWD3 ($55,398), SL+ e-4orce ($57,398), and Platinum+ e4orce ($60,398) variants. For the latter one, the designation remains the same.

What’s interesting in these three cases is that the price has been slashed by $4,600. That’s quite similar to the $5,000 rebate that the federal government was offering. This $5,000 federal rebate, which we learned this week won’t be renewed, as the government did not include such a measure in its latest budget.

Manufacturers are taking over. It proves that they can adjust their prices and that the era of rebates is probably coming to an end. We know that in Quebec, consumers can still benefit from a $4,000 reduction on the purchase or lease of an electric vehicle until the end of this year.

For 2026, the rebate will drop to $2,000. It will disappear for good on January 1, 2027.

At the end of the day, for now, consumers looking for an electric model are still covered, with a price reduction that simulates the presence of incentives.

And in Canada, particularly, those interested in the Ariya can consider themselves lucky, because due to the tariffs in effect in the United States, Nissan has withdrawn its product from the offering for next year.
