It will be built on a shortened version of the Ariya’s platform.
Nissan’s E-4ORCE electric four-wheel drive system could be offered.
Like all other automakers, Nissan and The Alliance, are heavily invested in developing new EV technologies and products. The Japanese automaker was well ahead of the curve nearly a decade ago and with the upcoming Ariya electric SUV, could once again become a leader. The R&D that has gone into the vehicle will also serve new models including a planned Juke-sized SUV.
The Nissan Juke may have left our market a few years ago but it continues to thrive in other parts of the world. The small SUV segment in which it competes continues to be hugely popular and it will gain a new member when Nissan launches its Ariya-based Juke-sized SUV.
The as-of-yet unnamed vehicle will ride on a shortened version of the Ariya’s CMF-EV platform. This structure is also shared with the electric Renault Mégane crossover which will be the same size as the new Nissan, according to Auto Express.
Details are limited at the moment however it seems that this new small SUV could feature Nissan’s E-4ORCE electric four-wheel-drive system. As far as specifications are concerned, it should have the same 100kW rapid charging capability as the Ariya and be powered by its smaller 63kWh battery for about 250 miles of range.
This new SUV should be limited to Europe on other such markets. It’s unlikely to come to North America.
