Dual 12.3-inch displays and wireless phone charging now available on premium trims
New Sport mode, retuned CVT, and idle stop/start improve everyday driving experience
ProPILOT Assist and Blind Spot Intervention offered on top-tier SR Premium grade
Nissan has introduced the new 2026 Sentra, their redesigned compact sedan featuring updated styling, expanded technology, and added driver-assistance systems. It will arrive in Canadian showrooms later in 2025.

Available in S, SV Premium, and SR Premium grades, the 2026 Sentra brings sharper exterior styling, including an evolved V-motion front grille and slim projector LED headlights. Designers improved aerodynamics with reshaped rear fenders, underbody covers and reduced drag from revised side mirrors and wheel openings. New two-tone paint options and 18-inch alloy wheels are available on higher trims.
The cabin features available dual 12.3-inch displays and redesigned infotainment controls that retain core physical buttons. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, with wireless connectivity available on SV Premium and SR Premium grades. The Sentra also includes optional features such as a wireless phone charger and a Bose eight-speaker audio system.

The 2026 Sentra is powered by the same 2.0-litre inline-four engine producing 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. The updated Xtronic CVT has been retuned to deliver smoother acceleration. A new Sport drive mode, offered on SV Premium and SR Premium, adjusts steering and throttle response. Idle stop/start is standard. Updated NRCAN fuel economy ratings will be announced closer to launch.
Handling is supported by a carry-over independent front strut and multi-link rear suspension setup, while rear disc brakes are now standard. Nissan reports a 6% increase in chassis rigidity over the previous generation, achieved through structural reinforcements and improved sound insulation. The steering ratio has been revised for an assumed sportier feel.

Driver-assistance systems include standard Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Prevention, High Beam Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition. All trims include Intelligent Cruise Control.
While Nissan may claim “all-new”, based on the available specs, the 2026 Sentra is a heavily refreshed 8th-generation Sentra, which launched for the 2020 model year. Overall dimensions are within millimetres from one model year to another, suggesting the updated outer shell is responsible for the variations.
