2025 Nissan Versa Warranty Coverage

In Canada, the Nissan Versa is covered by a 3-year/60,000 km Comprehensive Limited Warranty (whichever comes first) and a 5-year/100,000 km Powertrain Limited Warranty. In addition, the Versa is backed by a 3-year/60,000 km Corrosion Surface Limited Warranty and a 5-year/unlimited km Corrosion Perforation Limited Warranty.

24-hour roadside assistance is offered on the Versa for 3 years and unlimited km in Canada.

What the 2025 Nissan Versa Does Well

  • As mentioned above, the Versa is the lowest-priced spanking-brand-new car in Canada. That alone is a strong purchase criterion. Though the S trim level offers an essential set of features, it does include many advanced safety devices such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning and automatic high beams. The SV trim adds niceties such as heated front seats, keyless entry, wireless phone charging, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. So, good value and low ownership costs.
  • Fuel economy is quite good for a non-hybrid car, with a combined city/highway average of 6.8 L/100 km. During our last road test of the Versa, we managed a respectable 5.8 L/100 km.
  • It’s a small car, but it’s comfortable and the cabin is well insulated against road noise. The seats are supportive enough for the daily grind, while rear-seat room is adequate. The trunk offers a volume of 416 to 425 litres, so it’s pretty big.
  • The car’s engine may only develop 122 horsepower, but the Versa is relatively light and the power-to-weight ratio is not that bad. The Versa actually feels peppy off the line, thanks to good throttle response.

What the 2025 Nissan Versa Doesn’t Do Well

  • The Versa S is equipped with air conditioning, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen, but Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is reserved for the SV and SR variants. Nissan’s on-board interface is getting a little old and doesn’t offer many functions in the Versa. Also, no keyfob for the S trim despite power door locks, meaning we can lock up all car doors by press the lock button on the door panel as we step out, but that’s a bad habit for forgetful people who may accidently leave the key in the car. The Versa S also doesn’t include a split-folding rear seatback like the SV and SR do.
  • The Versa is sensitive to crosswinds, due to its size and weight. It requires constant steering corrections on the highway on foul-weather days.
  • Fuel economy may be good, but most compact sedans are as well. The bigger and more powerful Nissan Sentra is actually more frugal on the combined cycle with an average of 6.6 L/100 km.
  • A low entry price is good for those who pay cash. However, the Versa’s lease and finance rates are higher than those of the Sentra, meaning the latter might only cost a few bucks more a month. In short, the most affordable MSRP doesn’t necessarily mean the lowest monthly payments, depending on what incentives are available from one month to another.

2025 Nissan Versa Competition

The Nissan Versa competes with the Fiat 500e, the Honda Civic, the Hyundai Elantra, the Kia K4, the Mazda3, the MINI Cooper, the Nissan LEAF, the Nissan Sentra, the Subaru Impreza, the Toyota Corolla, the Toyota Prius, the Volkswagen Golf and the Volkswagen Jetta.
