Nokian Tyres Relaunches Nordman as Independent Brand with New Nordman North 9

New Lineup Offers Wide Market Coverage with Balanced Performance for Winter Conditions

Nokian Tyres has relaunched Nordman as an independent tire brand with the introduction of the new Nordman North 9 winter tire. This new lineup not only comes with a fresh visual design and slogan, but also aims to expand its product portfolio to include winter, all-weather, and all-season categories. The Nordman North 9 series is the first in a line of products under the newly rebranded Nordman label.

The North 9 and its SUV counterpart, the Nordman North 9 SUV, are designed to provide reliable performance in all winter conditions. Both models are available in studded and non-studded versions. Their performance can be enhanced by optimized studding, aimed at raising the level of safety, especially on icy surfaces. Snow Grip Boosters situated in the center of the tread work to keep handling predictable across varying conditions.

Originally introduced as a product family in 2004, Nordman now sports a new logo and visual design that includes redesigned tire sidewalls. The relaunch also accompanies a new slogan: “NORDMAN – TIRES FOR YOUR DIRECTION.” This new standalone brand is intended to cater to value-driven consumers, offering them a new choice in the tire market. The new Nordman North 9 tires are available for purchase this fall through Nokian Tyres’ retail partners in the United States, and Canada.

The NorthTech 9 tread compound is a blend catalyzed by canola oil. This allows silica and natural rubber to work in concert, ensuring safety on snowy and icy roads. The high concentration of natural rubber keeps the tire soft in cold weather, contributing to its reliability. The tread pattern, augmented by 3D siping and lightning-shaped Snow Grip Boosters, enhances the tire’s grip and provides precise control on wet and snowy surfaces.

As part of the Nordman North 9 product line, a specialized version for SUVs and crossovers is also available. This version aims to offer better driving stability and durability for larger, heavier vehicles, meeting expectations for both driving experience and comfort.

The range covers 32 sizes from 15 inches to 20 inches and comes with a speed index of T, equivalent to 118 miles per hour or 190 kilometers per hour.
