First production models are everywhere at Barrett-Jackson. The latest to raise a significant amount of money is the first new-generation Toyota Supra.
Unveiled last Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2020 Toyota Supra will go on sale this summer. We don’t have an exact production number set yet, but we do know that the first model was sold yesterday at Barrett-Jackson for over 2 millions dollars.
2.1 million dollars exactly, a million more than the 1.1 million the first 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 got yesterday.
Like the Mustang Shelby which was purchased by Barrett-Jackson founder Craig Jackson, the proceeds of the Supra sale yesterday will go to charity. Specifically the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff foundation which helps the first responders, service members and veterans of September 11th.
The 2020 Supra will have the VIN 20201 for 2020 model year and 1 for the production model. It will have a unique matte grey paint, red mirror caps, and black wheels. Like all new Supra models, the first production model will be powered by a six-cylinder twin-turbo engine with 335 horsepower.
