Overfinch Land Rover Range Rover Holland & Holland Edition: A New Benchmark in Bespoke Luxury for Hunters

British custom builder Overfinch is raising the bar for ultra-luxury with a Land Rover Range Rover SV–based creation limited to just 25 units. This special edition, developed in collaboration with legendary gunmaker Holland & Holland, pays tribute to traditional pheasant hunting.

  • Fully equip, it will cost you close to $900 000 CAD

  • Overfinch is back in business since 2010

  • Production is limited to 25 units, 12 are already sold

The Range Rover Yes, but Who is Overfinch?

For decades, Overfinch held a special place in the world of high-end automotive customization. Founded in the mid-1970s, the British outfit gained cult status for transforming Range Rovers into sharper, faster and far more luxurious machines—long before luxury manufacturers started offering their own high-performance SUVs. As Land Rover began producing increasingly powerful and refined factory models, Overfinch’s competitive edge narrowed, eventually leading to bankruptcy in 2010. Under new ownership, the company has re-emerged with a sharpened focus: building limited-production, ultra-crafted Range Rovers and Defenders with a level of tailoring that borders on the artistic.

That philosophy is pushed to its extreme in the Overfinch Holland & Holland Edition, a collaboration that unites three worlds: modern luxury SUVs, British coachbuilding and centuries-old gunmaking craftsmanship. Holland & Holland, founded in the 1800s and renowned for its handmade sporting rifles and shotguns, is known for its intricate engravings, fine walnut stocks and metalwork perfected over generations. Combining such artisanal heritage with the contemporary form language of a Range Rover results in something rare—both in ambition and execution.

Land Rover Range Rover SV to Start

The project begins with the Range Rover SV, one of the flagship models in the Land Rover lineup. Powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 607 hp, it accelerates from 0–60 mph in 4.3 seconds and reaches a top speed just over 260 km/h. It already stands among the most refined and luxurious SUVs available globally. Its U.S. starting price of $221,650 USD is $305,000 CAD in Canada, forming the base of this highly exclusive build.

A Distinctive Exterior Inspired by Craftsmanship

Overfinch then fits a Holland & Holland exterior and interior package valued at $196,000 USD, or about $268,000 CAD. The goal is not simply to add luxury, but to reinterpret the engravings, finishes and motifs traditionally found on bespoke firearms into the visual identity of a modern Range Rover.

Highlights include:

  • 23-inch forged wheels with self-levelling centre caps engraved with the Holland & Holland hallmark.
  • A fully metal front grille featuring hand-engraved diamond patterns reminiscent of the brand’s Royal-grade shotguns.
  • Custom metal lettering and vent surrounds, also engraved with Holland & Holland scrollwork.
  • A full-width illuminated rear light bar incorporating an illuminated Overfinch badge.

Despite the complexity of these elements, the design avoids falling into ostentation. The clean, reductive surfaces of the current-generation Range Rover remain intact, while the artisanal details are discovered progressively as you approach the vehicle.

A Cabin Transformed Into a Hand-Crafted Lounge

Inside, the transformation is even more dramatic. Nearly every surface is wrapped in Bridge of Weir leather, while exposed materials include open-pore French walnut and true metal inlays. Motifs used on Holland & Holland firearms reappear throughout the cabin:

  • Stainless-steel door inlays with fine scroll engraving.
  • Walnut veneers embedded with hand-cut metal diamonds that echo the carving on gunstocks.
  • A Holland & Holland crest set into the front and rear centre consoles, the latter hiding a Champagne cooler and two flutes.

The seats feature a unique quilted pattern with embroidered game birds across the backrests. In the bicolour scheme, the cabin is divided between deep Harris Green upholstery up front and London Tan leather for the rear.

The Companion Chests: Extraordinary Optional Artifacts

Among the most elaborate additions are the Companion Chests, optional, handcrafted storage units integrated into the cargo area. Priced at $65,000 USD, or around $89,000 CAD, they elevate the vehicle from luxurious to ceremonial.

The upper chest houses:

  • Space for two bottles of Champagne
  • Crystal flutes
  • A staghorn-handled corkscrew
  • Silver bottle stoppers
  • Fine china
  • Monogrammed napkins
  • A full cutlery set for eight

The lower chest can store two long guns and includes:

  • A carved walnut display panel with Holland & Holland plaque
  • Space for eight whisky tumblers
  • Two crystal decanters
  • Two pewter hip flasks shaped like shotgun cartridges

This is not merely a set of accessories, it’s a portable lounge designed for traditional shooting parties, reinterpreting British field culture for the ultra-luxury SUV owner.

Additional Personalization

Buyers can also select an optional duo-tone leather interior, costing $45,000 USD (around $62,000 CAD), which further enhances the bespoke character of the cabin.

Accounting for the base vehicle, the Holland & Holland upgrades and the major options, the total investment approaches $650,000 USD, or roughly $890,000 CAD. At this level, the Range Rover transcends transportation. It becomes a collector’s object—an example of applied craftsmanship rather than a conventional luxury SUV.

A Level of Detail Rarely Seen Today

Some might expect the extensive engraving, custom metals and hunting-themed elements to verge on the theatrical. Yet in execution, the cabin and exterior feel surprisingly natural, grounded by meticulous workmanship and carefully chosen materials. The design does not imitate the aesthetics of firearms; instead, it translates their patterns and textures to a modern automotive setting.

This level of detail aligns with the heritage of the brands involved. Both Holland & Holland and Range Rover hold Royal Warrants, supplying products to the British monarchy. Overfinch’s interpretation honours that legacy, delivering a vehicle that feels entirely appropriate as a modern reinterpretation of British tradition.

Limited Production for a Very Specific Audience

Production is capped at 25 examples, making this one of the rarest Range Rovers ever built. Roughly half had been reserved shortly after its announcement, including at least 4 destined for yhe USA. There is a production lead time of around 12 months, meaning new buyers will wait until the following year for delivery.
