Automobili Pininfarina delivers the first coach-built electric hypercar, the one-of-a-kind Battista Targamerica.
Inspired by the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, this bespoke hypercar features personalized luxury and unmatched performance.
Built in one year, this milestone vehicle showcases Pininfarina’s artistry and engineering prowess.
Automobili Pininfarina has delivered the Battista Targamerica, the world’s first coach-built electric hypercar, to a client. The vehicle was unveiled at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering during Monterey Car Week on August 15, 2024.
The Battista Targamerica is the first one-off coach-built model from Automobili Pininfarina, showcasing the company’s commitment to personalized luxury vehicles. The car’s design was inspired by the client’s specifications and preferences, exemplifying the manufacturer’s tagline: “Dream Cars. Made Real.”
The vehicle features a unique silver Argento Liquido Gloss exterior with Iconica Blu accents, complemented by one-off ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy rims. Inside, the car boasts tan leather upholstery with contrast black leather on the steering wheel and dashboard. A standout feature is the bespoke cigar humidor built into the cabin between the seats, which is illuminated to match the colours of the car’s five driving modes.
Paolo Dellachà, Chief Executive Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, stated, “This is a seminal moment, delivering our first coach-built one-off vehicle to a client. Battista Targamerica, like no other vehicle before, demonstrates the infinite possibilities our highly skilled team can design and engineer.”
The Battista Targamerica maintains the impressive performance specifications of the standard Battista model. It is powered by four electric motors and a 120kWh lithium-ion battery, producing 1,900 hp and 2,340 Nm of torque. The hypercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 2 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 300 km/h, making it one of Italy’s fastest road-legal cars.
The vehicle’s design draws inspiration from the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, created for Gianni Agnelli. Chief Design Officer Dave Amantea emphasized the car’s unique status, saying, “Battista Targamerica will forever stand as a one-of-its-kind vehicle and will never be repeated.”
Chief Technical Officer Andrea Crespi highlighted the engineering challenges faced in creating the open-top design while maintaining the car’s performance capabilities.
The Battista Targamerica was hand-built by artisans at the Cambiano atelier in collaboration with Pininfarina SpA. The entire process, from conception to delivery, took exactly one year, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship involved in creating this bespoke vehicle.
