Polestar 2 Performance Pack Brings Brembo Brakes And Other Goodies To New EV

Polestar adds more sportiness to its upcoming electric vehicle with a new package

  • The Polestar 2 EV will be offered with a new Performance Pack

  • Brembo brakes, Öhlins suspension, forged aluminium wheels and gold seatbelts included

  • Package priced at $6,000 in Canada

The Polestar 2 Performance Pack will dial up the performance of the upcoming electric fastback with special brakes, suspension, wheels, and visual enhancements.

Announced today, the performance package includes Brembo brakes, special Öhlins suspension, gold highlights inside and out, and 20-inch aluminium forged wheels.

The Brembos will be painted a special Swedish gold shade like current Volvo Polestar models. The gold accents can be found on the seatbelts inside as well. The  four-piston aluminum front brake calipers have an aero-sculpted design and are designed to operate at an optimal level in any conditions.

The Öhlins Dual Flow Valve (DFV) dampers promise increased control and adaptability to road conditions. The dampers use two different paths to allow oil to flow in and out depending on the situation. At low speeds, the system improves comfort and softness while at higher speeds, the dampers firm up to provide better control and handling. The driver can choose between 22 unique settings for the dampers, just like in the Polestar 1 PHEV.

The Polestar 2 Performance Pack also features 20-inch forged aluminium wheels that are 3.3 lbs. lighter than the optional 20-inch wheels on the Polestar 2. The EV comes standard with 19-inch wheels. Continental SportContact wheels wrap around the wheels.

Polestar says the Performance Pack will cost 6,000 euros. Interestingly, in Canada, pricing is also $6,000 CAD. That’s quite a deal when you think how our dollar stacks up against Europe.
