Polestar to Unveil a Sportier Version of the 2 on March 21

Polestar teased a new performance version of the 2 to be unveiled next week.

  • The company posted a short video teasing this model on Instagram.

  • This appears to be an updated version of the BST 270 limited edition.

  • The teaser shows larger brakes and performance tires.

Polestar is getting ready to unveil a new sportier version of the Polestar 2 electric liftback on March 21.

The company posted a short video on its Instagram and Twitter accounts which gives a glimpse at this new performance model from the front and then the side.

From what we can see, this model appears as a revised version of the limited-production BST 270 sports model that was launched last year.

This is because the new model shares the same black-painted 21-inch alloy wheels and 245-width Pirelli performance tires.

Like the BST 270, the teaser version shows a body-coloured front spitter and wheel arches, as well as large drilled brake discs equipped with gold-painted callipers.

The main visual difference with last year’s special edition appears to be the paint colour since the new model is wearing the blueish-grey shade known as Thunder while the BST 270 was finished in white.

Most of the changes could be found under the hood, so to speak, since the 2024 Polestar 2 received a number of improvements that could translate to this special model.

Indeed, the regular car now features more powerful motors and a more efficient battery sourced from CATL which provides additional range and faster charging times.

This means that the new model to be unveiled next week could offer more than the BST 270’s 470 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.

Other changes could also have been made to the chassis and suspension systems, which already differed from the standard model by being lower, 20% stiffer, and equipped with unique Öhlins adjustable dampers.

More details are expected upon the model’s launch, including its availability. That is when we will know if this version will be another limited edition or if it will be widely available to the general public.
