Porsche Celebrates 25 Years of its Latin America Division with the 911 GT3 ‘Ocelot’

The 'Ocelot' is the first iteration of the Icons of Latin America series from Porsche, commemorating its presence on the continent.

  • The 911 GT3 ‘Ocelot’ is a bespoke model that marks the first of the Sonderwunsch “Icons of Latin America” series.

  • This model wears paint and upholstery inspired by the Amazon rainforest and the ocelot.

  • Other cars in the series will commemorate other Latin American countries where Porsche is present.

Porsche launches the Icons of Latin America series of bespoke cars with the 911 GT3 ‘Ocelot’, a sports car inspired by the Colombian Amazon Rain Forest and one of its inhabitants, the ocelot.

Created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Porsche Latin America, the automaker’s division that oversees the network of private importers who bring new Porsche cars and SUVs to buyers in South American countries, this series will feature additional models that will commemorate other countries where Porsche vehicles are sold.

In addition, the 911 GT3 ‘Ocelot’ also commemorates the 30th anniversary of Autoelite, the brand’s official importer in Colombia. Both of these milestones are displayed on the car’s illuminated door sills.

This one-of-one sports car stands out from other 911s thanks to its unique Forest Green Metallic paint colour which is said to recall the Amazon forest as well as its Centenaire Silver accents on the door handles, the engine cover, and the door mirrors, which are intended as a nod to the chrome accents of the first 911 from the 1960s.

The 20 and 21-inch alloy wheels also feature green painted pockets and special badges on the B-pillars complete the unique elements.

Inside, the Cohiba Brown leather and Pepita checkered fabric are inspired by the ocelot, a small wild cat found throughout Colombia. The black and white motif of the fabric is another nod to the brand’s heritage.

A more direct reference to the ocelot is the animal’s silhouette which is embossed on the front headrests, in the style of Colombian traffic signs warning of animal crossings.

Darker Truffle Brown accents can be found on the steering wheel, the headliner and the seatbelts, while the air vents and the Sport Chrono clock are wrapped in Cohiba brown with Truffle Brown stitching.

The front luggage compartment combines all three interior colourways, with most of the surface covered in Cohiba Brown leather, a panel trimmed in Pepita fabric and featuring a Truffle Brown pouch.

No mechanical changes are highlighted in the documentation released about the Porsche 911 GT3 ‘ocelot’, which means it likely retains the services of the same naturally-aspirated 4.0L flat-six-cylinder engine as the other 911 GT3 Touring models, which generates an output of 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque.

The ‘ocelot’ also features a six-speed manual transmission, but that is the extend of the details we know about the powertrain.

No precise timeframe was announced for the release of the other Icon of Latin America models from Porsche, so we will keep an eye out for them over the next few months.
