Porsche Honours Former Designer Ferdinand Alexander Porsche with the 2027 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche

The latest creation from Porsche's Sonderwunsch program is the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche, an hommage to the designer who penned the original 911.

  • This special edition is based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package.

  • Paint and upholstery have been created in collaboration with F.A. Porsche’s youngest son.

  • 90 units will be available globally, with a starting MSRP of US $387,000

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (F.A. Porsche), grandson of company founder Ferdinand Porsche and designer of the original 911, would have turned 90 this year.

To commemorate this, the automaker tasked its Sonderwunsch program to come up with a special edition of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package.

Developed in collaboration with F.A. Porsche’s youngest son, Mark, this special edition is inspired by the man who was also responsible for the creation of Porsche Design, a studio that creates watches, men’s accessories, and household appliances.

The first distinctive element that can be seen is the unique F.A. Green metallic paint, which is an homage to the designer’s own Oak Green 911, which he drove in the 1980s.

Other special touches outside include the Satin Black Sport Design wheels, which are not normally available on the GT3 with Touring Package, and 1963-style Porsche crests on the center lock hubs.

A gold-trimmed plaque featuring the 90 F.A. Porsche logo is applied to the rear decklid grille, just below the rear window. Under this decklid is the same 4.0L naturally-aspirated flat six cylinder engine that can be found in other 911 GT3 variants, delivering 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque.

Inside, the main distinguishing characteristic of this special edition is the upholstery, which is inspired by F.A. Porsche’s favourite sport coat.

This means that the seat centers, the glove compartment lining, and the front trunk mat are trimmed in F.A. grid-weave fabric, which contains black, green, truffle brown, cream, and Bordeaux red accents.

The rest of the interior is finished in Truffle Brown Club leather with Limestone stitching.

Two plaques bearing the designer’s signature are found inside, one on the dashboard trim piece and the other just behind the shifter.

Speaking of which, the round handle of the lever controlling the six-speed manual transmission is made of open-pore walnut.

In addition, the Sport Chrono clock placed at the center of the dashboard has been modified to look like the original Chronograph 1 wrist watch, which was made as a one-off for F.A. Porsche.

Only 90 units of this special edition will be available globally, one of which has already been set aside for Mark Porsche.

Porsche Celebrates 25 Years of the Iconic 911 GT3

In exchange for the U.S. $387,000 MSRP, buyers will be invited to personalize their car in a one-on-one consultation that will ensure each 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche is unique, while still celebrating the man who set the iconic appearance of the original 911.

Buyers will also receive a unique Porsche Design travel bag and an exclusive edition of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1.

This wristwatch is a close take on F.A. Porsche’s personal timepiece, featuring his initials and a matte black face with fluorescent white indices and hands. The rotor of the automatic function has been matched to the car’s wheels, however, and each watch carries a number out of 90 that signifies its place in the limited run.

The standard black titanium bracelet can also be swapped for a supplied brown leather strap that matches the car’s interior with a quick exchange system that doesn’t require tools.

The watch is manufactured in a Porsche-owned factory in Switzerland while the car will be coming down the assembly line in Zuffenhausen, with production expected to begin in mid-2026.
