Porsche Taycan electric vehicle is third most popular Porsche model in 2021
Porsche overall had a great year, selling over 300,000 vehicles for the first time
The Porsche Taycan electric vehicle has been a huge success story since it arrived on the market two years ago. Sales have been increasing exponentially year-over-year and in 2021, the Taycan managed to outsell Porsche’s legendary 911.
Porsche as a whole had an exceptional year in 2021 despite all the challenges faced by the industry. For the first time, Porsche sold over 300,000 cars, an increase of 11% year-over-year. Total sales reached 301,915 of which 41,296 were the Porsche Taycan. That is good enough for third overall in the Porsche lineup after the Porsche Macan and the Porsche Cayenne.
Even more significant is the fact that the Porsche electric vehicle outsold the Porsche 911 which registered 38,496 sales worldwide.
The Porsche Panamera with 30,220 sales and the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman lineups with a combined 20,500 into units sold follow to round up Porsche sales numbers.
The Porsche Taycan should continue on its record-setting pace in 2022 where it will benefit from the first full years of production for the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo as well as the recently introduced Porsche Taycan GTS.
