The Porsche Taycan is not even out yet that it’s already sold out. We don’t even know its final form, but it should be close to the Concept.
Each name, at Porsche, as a meaning related to the car itself. Porsche chose to name the Mission E Concept Taycan, which can be loosely translated to “lively young horse”. It’s linked to the leaping steed found at the heart of the Porsche crest since 1952.
During the announcement made at the “70 years of sports cars” ceremony last June, Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explained: “Our new electric sports car is strong and dependable; it’s a vehicle that can consistently cover long distances and that epitomises freedom.”
With more than 600 hp, the Porsche Taycan will be capable of doing the 0-100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and the 0-200 km/h in under 12 seconds. Add to that a range of over 500 km and the capability of using fast-charging rates of up to 350 kilowatts and you now understand why the first model-year is already sold out!
Porsche also announced in October that the Mission E Cross Turismo was going into series production. The car was shown at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is basically the “Sport Turismo” form of the Taycan.
