Porsche Taycan To Come in Three Trims, Start At Around $90,000 US

The Porsche Taycan Will Be Offered in Taycan, Taycan 4S, and Taycan Turbo trims and will start at about $90,000 US.

Porsche Taycan Turbo models are expected to top $130,000 US. Put in Canadian context and if we follow how the Panamera does it, that means roughly $99,000 for a base Taycan and around $150,000 for a Taycan Turbo.

The information comes from The Drive contributor and future Taycan owner Alex Roy.

After inquiring about the upcoming Porsche performance EV, he received a notice from his Porsche Brand Ambassador that provided more info on the Taycan’s lineup and pricing. The Taycan 4S is said to start in the “high $90,000”.

While the notion of Porsche using nomenclature usually reserved for ICE models is at first odd, we definitely warmed up to the idea of a “Taycan Turbo”. Of course there is no turbocharger powering the all-electric Taycan, but it will clearly denominate that model as the top-of-the-line trim, and it’s simply a cool name.

In any case, these trims define what a Porsche is. Just because the upcoming Taycan is an electric vehicle doesn’t mean it isn’t 100 % Porsche and shouldn’t get the same names as its gas-powered brothers.
