  • Borealis and Vector showcase future vehicle design and Canadian-built clean tech innovation

  • Project Arrow targets a fully buildable domestic prototype by 2028 using Canadian manufacturing expertise

The Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) will unveil the second prototype in its Project Arrow series, the Borealis, at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto on February 12, 2026. The global debut is the next phase in Canada’s efforts to lead in advanced automotive technology and zero-emission vehicle development.

Revealed alongside Borealis will be Project Arrow Vector, a next-generation technology platform evolved from the original Arrow prototype. Together, the two prototypes are intended to demonstrate Canada’s evolving vision for mobility beyond 2040 and showcase the domestic capabilities in vehicle engineering, design, and manufacturing.

The Project Arrow initiative plans to deliver a fully buildable, commercially viable prototype by 2028, developed entirely in Canada. The new Borealis model builds upon the foundations of the first Arrow vehicle, which debuted in 2023, and integrates advancements in sustainable mobility and manufacturing practices. Vector signals further progress in connected, autonomous, and software-defined vehicle technologies.

The APMA describes the initiative as a collaboration across Canadian industry sectors, highlighting innovation and engineering talent from coast to coast. Project Arrow is positioned as a national platform intended to demonstrate how Canada can lead in the transition to clean transportation technologies.

“This is an exciting milestone for Canadian automotive innovation,” said Flavio Volpe, President of the APMA. “Project Arrow continues to demonstrate how collaboration, engineering excellence, and advanced technology can come together to shape the future of mobility.”

The original Project Arrow prototype was revealed in 2023 as part of Canada’s automotive transformation efforts. The program is supported by industry and government stakeholders with the goal of developing a scalable Canadian-built electric vehicle platform.

The Borealis and Vector will be featured during the AutoShow’s Media Day Opening Ceremonies, February 12th.
