Mullen Technologies confirmed that they will present the Qiantu K50 in a few weeks at the New York Auto Show.
Last December Mullen Technologies announced its partnership with Qiantu Motor to homologate, assemble and sell the K50 in North America.
Fast forward to today where Mullen said the Qiantu K50 will make its first public appearance in the United States at the New York Auto Show on April 17.
The 402-hp two-seater will have an all-aluminum chassis and an aerodynamic carbon fiber design. The company mentions that the K50 is not only about power, but that the design of the car gives it a distinctive look.
“The New York Auto Show is the perfect place to introduce this amazing car to North America,” says Mullen Founder & CEO David Michery. “I wanted to bring it to consumers in the United States, where there’s always room for a car that combines power, beauty, and performance with zero CO2 emissions.”
No other details on the car have yet been unveiled other than it will be offered in six colors.
The two-door coupé, which will be the flagship model of the Chinese manufacturer, will have a range of 380 km. As for pricing, it is available since August in China and sells for 754,300 yuan, or about $ 147,000 CAD.
Some Qiantu K50s are currently on their way to Mullen Technologies’ California Research and Development Center. The company will then start the homologation process as soon as the battery tests are completed.
The first copies of the model will be delivered somewhere in 2020.
