Anti Black Lives Matter statement painted on side of car
Community reaches out, Police investigating hate crime
A woman in Oshawa, Ontario, had her car sprayed with racist graffiti along with having its tires flattened earlier this week, shown in a video clip posted to social media.
The graffiti, in black paint on the side of the car, read “Black Lives Don’t Matter FU.” The video was posted to Twitter a user who said that they got the clip from a friend related to the victim.
It was captioned “this happened to my mother’s car, she lives (in) North Oshawa and is a mother of six and a nurse and this is what someone did to her car. Racism in Canada is a thing! Please repost #BLM Any and all support is appreciated!”

On top of the hate-filled message, all four of the car’s tires were reportedly flattened.
Durham Regional Police service, which polices Oshawa, said that they were investigating. “Yes, we are aware and are investigating this one,” DRPS spokesperson Dave Selby said to multiple outlets. “Very disturbing and we have a number of people working on it.” The spokesperson said that DPRS are investigating the matter as a hate-motivated crime.
Posted to the same Twitter account a few hours later was a message said to be from the victim reading “Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support! My Family wishes to give the issue no more energy or time.” Twitter replies to the video showed extensive support for the victim and the Black Lives Matter movement.
