A pair of new G/T models offer the Ram some extra attitude
Package includes hood, intake, exhaust, more
Ram is adding a pair of new sport trucks to the 1500 series lineup for 2022. The Ram Laramie 1500 G/T and Rebel G/T offer performance appearance upgrades right from the factory along with a new exhaust, new intake, and new floor shifter.
It’s the new performance hood you’re likely to notice first. It has massive vents near the front along with even bigger venting and ducting up against the cowl. New G/T graphics showcase the model and there are large new badges showing off the 5.7L eTorque mild hybrid that sits under the hood as the only engine in these trucks.
Paddle shifters, the first time for those on the Ram 1500 apart from the supercharged TRX are joined by a new shifter in the center console. Metal pedals lurk if you look below the dashboard, and a G/T specific interior for the 2022 Ram 1500 models has high bolsters and a G/T logo. Rounding out the cabin changes are Mopar all-weather mats.
Once you start the truck, the Mopar cold air intake (that doesn’t take advantage of any of the new hood’s vents) and “cold-end exhaust” should give the truck some extra attitude. In the sound department, at least.
Ram 1500 G/T trucks will also have performance pages added to the infotainment system. Taken from the SRT models, performance pages show off timers for drag racing, g-forces, engine performance, and extra gauges. You can also download performance data to a USB stick.
The two G/T trucks are offered only in crew cab configuration with the 5.7L eTorque Hemi. They’ll go on sale this quarter with the 1500 Laramie G/T from $55,480 and the Rebel G/T from $55,375, both before destination.
