This powertrain warranty initially applied only to 2026 models sold until January 2nd
All 2026 model year gas and diesel-powered Ram vehicles, including the 1500, the RHO, HD trucks, chassis-cabs, and Ram ProMaster vans, will continue to be eligible.
Vehicles sold to businesses are also covered, as long as they are not part of a fleet order.
Stellantis Canada has elected to expand its new 10-year / 160,000-kilometre powertrain warranty to all 2026 model year Ram models.
Announced in late August, this warranty was initially intended to end on January 2nd 2026, reverting back to the standard 5-year / 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty.
In a press release published earlier today, the automaker said its decision to keep the longer warranty was motivated by the fact that almost 80% of new truck loans exceed five years, which leaves buyers making payments on a truck that isn’t covered in case of mechanical problems. Customer and dealer feedback has also been considered in this process.

The powertrain warranty takes care of issues with the engine, the transmission, the axles, the differentials, the transfer case, and the driveshafts.
All new 2026 Ram models are eligible for the 10-year warranty, including the 1500 pickup and its high-performance RHO variant, 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty trucks, 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs, and gas-powered ProMaster vans sold in Canada. The only exception is the electric ProMaster EV.
No other truck brand offers such a warranty in Canada, with Ford pickups being covered by a 5-year / 100,000 km powertrain warranty and GM trucks (Chevrolet and GMC) being covered by either a 5-year / 100,000 km or 5-year / 160,000 km warranty, depending on the engine.

In Ram’s case, the 10-year powertrain warranty applies to vehicles sold to businesses, but not those that are part of a fleet order.
Additionally, this warranty is non-transferable, meaning that only the original owner can benefit from it. If the truck is sold within the warranty period, coverage is downgraded to the standard 5-year / 100,000 km period.
By covering major powertrain elements for up to 10 years, Ram is aiming to increase buyers’ confidence in its products and dispel reliability concerns.
