The electric Ram pickup is set to arrive on the market in 2024
The automaker said to expect the official reveal in the fall of this year
The video shows the front end with its distinctive light signature
Stellantis is a bit late to the electric truck game since Ford has already begun production of its F-150 Lightning and General Motors has launched the GMC Hummer EV and revealed the Chevrolet Silverado EV.
In order to show it is also working on such a vehicle, the RAM division of the Franco-American automaker released a new teaser video of the Ram 1500 EV that is said to be on its way towards a 2024 introduction on the market.
The short video doesn’t show much new since previous teasers had already revealed the lighting signature of the truck, but it at least confirms the design of the lights.
The headlamps of the electric Ram will feature an LED strip along their top and bottom which make the unit appear a bit like a wine bottle on its side, pointing towards the middle of the truck.
In the center, a modernised RAM logo is formed of individual illuminated letters that shine in a light blue hue. This detail might not make it to the production truck, but considering the increasing popularity of lighted logos, it could.
Very few other details are visible, except the shape of the hood, which curves downwards over the headlamps and towards the side of the truck. In addition, the roof will have a slightly recessed strip along the middle.
This new video was also accompanied by a Tweet that says to expect the official reveal of this electric truck to be held later this year, in the fall.
Previously, Stellantis said that its late arrival on the EV market will allow it to incorporate the latest technologies in its upcoming products, so the power and range of the electric Ram should be competitive with the other EV pickups that will be on the market in the coming years.
