807 hp with a (short) factory warranty
Mopar now offering from 375 to 1,000 hp
Mopar isn’t stopping bringing massively high-performance crate engines to market, and the latest one delivers 807 hp. It’s the Hellcrate Redeye, a version of the 6.2L model that was sold in the Hellcat Redeye versions of the Charger and Challenger muscle cars.
The Hellcrate Redeye offers 807 hp and 717 lb-ft of torque using 91-octane fuel, and it’s the model that first launched in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The upgrades over the base Hellcat engine, still offered as a Hellcrate package, include a larger supercharger putting out more boost pressure at 14.5 psi. A 300 rpm higher redline of 6,500 helps with more power, and a forged alloy steel crank with revised balancing helps keep it together. As do a 5150 cam, forged pistons with more bore clearance, new valve springs, and more piston-cooling oil flow.
The kit comes with a complete engine assembly including blower and throttle body, fuel injectors, ignition coil packs, a water pump, and flexplate, all for $27,010. It comes in special packaging with a Redeye logo and comes with installation requirements and tech tips, while buyers who want to back it with a manual gearbox can get a flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and the right attachment hardware.
Each Hellcrate is run for 42 minutes before being packed up and shipped.
Mopar now offers five crate Hemi options, starting with the 375 hp 5.7L version for $9,105, including the 6.4L 485 hp V7, 707 hp Hellcrate 6.2, and the $42,035 1,000 hp Hellephant 426 Hemi.
