Refreshed 2025 Hyundai Tucson, Santa Cruz to Bow at New York Show

Tucson and Santa Cruz get 2025 shakeup

  • Hyundai’s compact utes get an upgrade

  • New cabin, new tech, expect same power

Hyundai is refreshing the 2025 Tucson crossover and Santa Cruz pickups. The two will get new cabins and new styling and will be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show on the 27th of March.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz was first launched in 2021. Hyundai’s first pickup in the North American market was based on the Tucson and arrived just in time to face off with Ford’s Maverick in the return of the small truck.

Hyundai said that the 2025 Santa Cruz will get a more aggressive design, adding ruggedness to the exterior. It will also get improved ergonomics thanks to a new cabin, as well as new advanced driver assists. Hyundai also said it will have “improved capability.”

The 2025 Tucson will also get appearance changes. The Hyundai Tucson will get “a more commanding appearance,” new front lighting, and new wheels. It will also get cabin upgrades and new tech like the Santa Cruz.

No word on powertrain changes, so expect the Santa Cruz to keep its pair of 2.5L engines. One with 191 hp and a turbocharged version with 281. The Tucson will also likely keep its 187 hp 2.5L four, 1.6L turbo-hybrid model, and the PHEV that offers up to 51 km of range.

The reveal takes place during the New York show press day, and expect more details to come.
