Rimac Nevera R Sets 24 New Records, Reclaims 0-400-0 km/h Benchmark

Nevera R outpaces its predecessor, breaking 24 records including the fastest 0-400-0 km/h run.

  • Nevera R reclaims 0-400-0 km/h record with 25.79-second run, over 4 seconds faster.

  • Engineering updates include new aero, Michelin tires, recalibrated torque vectoring, and 2,107 hp output.

  • Only 40 units will be built, each priced from 2.3 million EUR, targeting hypercar collectors.

Rimac’s Nevera R has established 24 new performance records, surpassing the achievements of the original Nevera and reclaiming the 0-400-0 km/h title from the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut which set its record a year ago with a time of 25.79 seconds. The Croatian-built electric hypercar completed the run 2.04 seconds quicker than the previous holder, cementing its position among the fastest accelerating production vehicles.

The Nevera R posted improvements across a wide range of acceleration and braking tests. It reached 0-60 mph in 1.66 seconds, improving by 0.08 seconds over the standard Nevera. Its 0-100 km/h time dropped to 1.72 seconds, while the sprint to 200 km/h took just 3.95 seconds, nearly half a second faster. The car achieved 300 km/h in 7.89 seconds and topped out at 431.45 km/h (268.2 mph), setting a new mark for production electric vehicles.

Rimac’s latest model has set the bar in combined acceleration and braking. It completed the 0-400-0 km/h run in 25.79 seconds (27.83 seconds for the Koenigsegg), cutting more than four seconds from the Nevera’s earlier benchmark. It also achieved a quarter mile in 7.90 seconds and covered the standing mile in 19.71 seconds.

The Nevera R’s results follow extensive updates to its aerodynamics, tires, and torque management. A revised aero package with a fixed rear wing and enlarged diffuser generates 15% more downforce and improves aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. New Michelin Cup 2 tires reduce understeer by 10% and raise lateral grip by 5%, supported by a recalibrated all-wheel torque vectoring system that adjusts power distribution 100 times per second.

Power comes from four electric motors delivering a combined 2,107 hp. These changes enabled the Nevera R to outperform the original car’s 23 records set at Germany’s ATP facility in 2023.

The Nevera line previously claimed the production EV top speed at 412 km/h, a production car hillclimb record at Goodwood with a 49.32-second run, and a Nürburgring lap time of 7:05.298. Only 40 units of the Nevera R are planned worldwide at a starting price of 2.3 million EUR ($3.69 million CDN).

“When we first introduced Nevera it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached,” said Mate Rimac, founder of Rimac Group. “But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car.”
