Rimac’s Mate Rimac Unveils His Custom-Designed Nevera Hypercar

Mate Rimac celebrates the culmination of a 15-year journey with a custom-built Nevera electric hypercar

  • Mate Rimac receives a personalized Nevera hypercar, embodying his electric performance vision.

  • The Nevera features a unique carbon fiber body, bespoke interior, and custom motifs.

  • Rimac’s dedication to in-house production ensures unparalleled customization and quality.

Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Croatian automotive company Rimac Automobili, has taken delivery of his very own Nevera, the cutting-edge all-electric hypercar his company has spent over a decade developing.

A Powerful Electric Vision Realized

Rimac established his company in 2009 with the ambitious goal of building a world-class electric performance vehicle from the ground up. After years of research, development, and testing, the Nevera was unveiled in 2021 as the realization of that long-held vision.

With claimed performance figures of 1,914 horsepower, a 0-97 km/h time of 1.85 seconds, and a top speed of 415 km/h, the Nevera showcases Rimac’s pioneering work in electric powertrain technology. Beyond its astonishing acceleration, the Nevera demonstrates the immense potential of electric propulsion in the high-performance automotive sector.

Exacting Customization & Personal Touches

Rather than sourcing parts from suppliers, Rimac Automobili has painstakingly produced nearly every component of the Nevera at its facilities in Croatia, including carbon fibre bodywork, advanced electronics, and intricate machined parts. This vertically-integrated approach enables an unprecedented level of vehicle customization and personalization.

For his own Nevera, Rimac seized this opportunity, working closely with the design team to develop a truly unique specification tailored to his personal tastes and story.

The most striking exterior element is the full carbon fibre body hand-tinted in a deep crimson red. Red anodized Nevera badging and exposed carbon fibre accents create vivid contrast. A specially developed “Carbon 3” finish was used, which aligns the carbon fibre weave in a precise flow across each body panel, a technical feat requiring immense precision.

Personal touches extend to the cabin with an asymmetric black and red interior trim and custom embroidered motifs like “Solinjanka,” a nod to a famous Croatian sculpture. Even the rear spoiler incorporates a lightning bolt design referencing stormy Croatian skies that inspired the Nevera’s name.

“It’s crazy being a customer of your own company,” said Rimac. “There was a real co-creation process working with the design team to perfect every detail until this Nevera felt uniquely mine – more than just a car, it tells my story.”

Beyond exclusivity, this comprehensive customization reflects decades of effort. Rimac overcame numerous challenges, keeping operations in Croatia and refusing lucrative offers to relocate despite early financial struggles.

With the first customer examples now being delivered, the Nevera represents the vanguard of elite electric hypercars. And for its pioneering creator, this personalized example encapsulates the realization of an improbable but tenaciously pursued dream.
