The new Rivian R1T and R1S Dual-Motor configuration showcases great EPA range improvements and efficiency benefits compared to other models.
The Rivian R1T & R1S Dual-Motor powertrain configuration reveals significant range and efficiency advancements over the Quad-Motor version.
Equipped with in-house developed Enduro motors, the Rivian R1T & R1S DM achieved an EPA Combined range of 566 km (352 miles) with 21-inch wheels.
The 22-inch wheel variant of the Rivian R1T & R1S DM Large Pack presents an EPA Combined range of 549 km (341 miles).
Rivian’s latest vehicles, the R1T electric pickup and R1S SUV, equipped with the Dual-Motor (DM) powertrain, have unveiled substantial enhancements in both range and efficiency, setting it apart from other variants like the Quad-Motor (QM).
Having commenced production in May, the Rivian R1T & R1S DM recently underwent comprehensive EPA range and efficiency evaluations, specifically for the Large Pack battery configuration featuring 21-inch and 22-inch wheels. These evaluations provided positive insights into the efficiency of the in-house designed and produced Enduro motors.
For the 21-inch wheel variation of the Rivian R1T & R1S DM Large Pack, the combined range under EPA standards extends to an impressive 566 km (352 miles), exceeding the initial manufacturer’s estimate. Similarly, the 22-inch wheel version boasts an EPA-combined range of 549 km (341 miles), surpassing the manufacturer’s earlier projection of 320 miles. These promising figures apply consistently across standard and Performance versions.
Although the EPA range for the 20-inch version is not currently available on the official EPA website, Rivian estimates that the 20-inch all-terrain wheels will yield an approximate range of 482 km (300 miles).
