Rocket Bunny CEO’s C8 Corvette is Big-Fender Stunner

Pandem's widebody Corvette turns the car into a Hot Wheels

  • Widebody C8 adds company’s unique style to Vette

  • Love it or leave it, that stance is near perfection

The Japanese automotive mastermind who is responsible for the massive-fender Rocket Bunny body kits has turned his attention to the C8 Chevrolet Corvette. And the result is a car that looks straight out of a Hot Wheels box but somehow meant for the road.

Kei Miura, the CEO of Rocket Bunny and of Pandem posted the renderings of the massively-flared widebody C8 to Instagram (via AutoEvolution). The kit, and while these are renderings we have zero doubt they’ll build the real thing exactly the same, turns the C8’s styling up to 11, exaggerating it to the point of caricature.

It’s not for everyone’s tastes, but it certainly will draw some like moths to a flame, and we’ll admit to kind of liking it.

While the kit’s not yet detailed, it looks to include those bolt-on fenders front and rear as well as side-skirts that might require a jump to step over. The massive wheels with wide, slick tires (we think they might be from Toyo) add grip, and no, you don’t need to double-check, the original C8 doesn’t have those squared-off arches.

Add a massive full-width integrated wing and an air-suspension to let this C8 lay frame and you’ve got a car that will absolutely stand out anywhere it goes. If the C8 didn’t look fully-exotic already with its angular, mid-engine styling, it sure does now.

No word on pricing, but other kits from the company will run you from $5-$10k. Plus installation, and that’s where these things will catch up with you. No word on when the real thing will be revealed, but expect it sometime late October when aftermarket extravaganza SEMA would normally have been held.
