Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presents its new limited edition, the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection. This unique line is notably inspired by the allure of solar eclipses. With only 25 units available, this collection symbolizes the rarity and beauty of these celestial occurrences.
The essence of the Rolls-Royce Ghost is combined with the bold Black Badge spirit, offering the perfect canvas to showcase the wonder of the universe. The launch of these bespoke vehicles aligns with the annular solar eclipse visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on 14 October.
The exterior captures the ethereal light of a total solar eclipse, boasting a Lyrical Copper color. This finish reveals a dramatic iridescence when illuminated, further accentuated by Mandarin detailing on the grille inserts and brake calipers. An abstract representation of the eclipse transition is hand-painted as a coachline, enhancing the car’s aesthetic.
Inside, the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis features a Bespoke Starlight Headliner. This unique animation replicates the solar eclipse’s totality, casting awe and wonder on its occupants. The animation duration is set at seven minutes and 31 seconds, representing the longest possible duration of a total solar eclipse.
The car’s illuminated fascia houses 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’ that depict the timeline of a total eclipse. A unique timepiece, inset with a brilliant-cut 0.5-carat diamond, recalls the ‘Diamond Ring’ effect observed during eclipses. This marks a new venture for Rolls-Royce, as it’s the first instance of integrating a gemstone into a clock’s bezel.
Lastly, the vehicle’s interior pays homage to the 360-degree twilight effect seen during a solar eclipse’s totality. Seats feature a bi-colored design with intricate perforated artwork, alongside other bespoke touches.
Unsurprisingly, all 25 units of this exceptional collection have already been reserved by clients globally.
