Latest version of the smaller Rolls debuts tomorrow
Showcased car with the most expensive sheets around
The latest Rolls-Royce feature for the Ghost is a bit of an apparition. A sheet, floating through the air to trendy music and giving us just the haunting outline of the luxury automaker’s latest model. Well, probably not just any sheet, they’re likely Egyptian cotton by warrant of The Queen or something of that ilk.
They call it “the purest expression of Rolls-Royce” and said it’s supposed to arrive 1-9-20, which had us a bit confused until we recalled that they use a different date format in Europe, so that means tomorrow and not way back in January.
It really is a vague outline of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, that we assume will be massive, luxurious beyond compare, have coach-opening doors, and a much sleeker roofline than we’re used to from the brand.
The Spirit of Ecstasy, the traditional Rolls figurehead, is shown with a much more detailed head. Though we’re not sure that the animated face would make it to a production car, this is Rolls-Royce, an automaker that will literally recreate the stars in the sky on any day of your choosing for your headliner, so it wouldn’t surprise us.
Ghost is the “entry” Rolls, though this isn’t exactly the kind of car you’d refer to as such at any other automaker, but we do expect a new V12 with more power than the outgoing car. As well as new levels of interior finishes and deluxe touches that would make everyday luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class slink back into the garage in embarrassment. We’ll see the whole thing tomorrow, but until then enjoy this dancing Ghost ghost.
