M3 wagon could get hottest M treatment
Rumoured to be launched for 2025
Look out, Audi. A new report from the rumour mill says that BMW could be coming directly at the RS6 with an even sharper version of the M3 Touring.
According to BMW Blog, the success of BMW’s first-ever M3 wagon has meant that the M division is looking at expanding the lineup. The report says that a limited-edition Club Sport model will be coming for 2025, making the M3 Touring even hotter.
Like the sedan version of the BMW M3 CS, this should get a version of the BMW 3.0L S58 engine that makes 543 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. It will likely also get the M3 CS’s carbon bucket seats and those golf-finished multi-spoke wheels.,
Carbon fibre bodywork is also likely to show up. The M3 CS sedan trims 75 lbs from the M3 Competition, but that same weight savings could be tough in a wagon. Expect the same M-tuned AWD system and eight-speed automatic as found in the sedan.
The family-friendly M3 CS will likely be limited in production just like the sedan. BMW built 2,000 of those. And, of course, it probably won’t come to North America because our market hates fun. There’s always the show-and-display law, though, right?
