Saleen Looking to Build an Electric Supercar

Saleen, better known as a Ford tuner, wants in on the electric supercar game

  • Saleen is on the cusp of launching new products.

  • The next step is funding.

  • The tuner filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a future IPO.

Saleen is synonymous with high-powered and high-performance Ford vehicles. They also made quite a name for themselves when they launched the S7 which was subsequently heavily featured in Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey. In the recent past, they announced the Saleen 1, and now, they want to build an all-electric supercar.

The Saleen S7 did see limited production and turned out to be quite the supercar when it launched in 2000. The Saleen 1, or S1, was first seen at the 2017 LA Auto Show. So far, only race versions are available for purchase as part of its one-make series known as the Saleen Cup as reported by Motor Authority.

Saleen’s next phase involves building an all-electric supercar. Through the Investor Relations section of their website, Saleen explains the following:

“Saleen Automotive is entering an explosive growth cycle with new and exciting visionary products, including an electric supercar, and now you can join our future.

We will soon be accepting investments to fund the next chapter of the Saleen story.”

Clearly, they are looking for investments for its future endeavors. Saleen has also filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a future IPO. There’s no further word or details on this future super-EV.
