Bridgestone has created a bespoke winter tire for the upcoming Lamborghini Temerario super sportscar, set to launch in 2025. The custom-engineered Blizzak LM005 winter tire is designed to maintain the vehicle’s high performance in extreme cold weather conditions.
The Blizzak LM005 is part of a complete tire lineup Bridgestone has developed for the Temerario, which includes summer and track fitments. This winter tire aims to meet the specific needs of drivers operating the hybrid high-performance electrified vehicle in challenging winter environments.
Bridgestone utilized its Virtual Tire Development technology to create the Blizzak LM005 for the Temerario. This process allows for more efficient and sustainable tire development by reducing physical prototypes, vehicle tests, and development time. The company reports that this method can decrease raw material consumption and CO2 emissions in the development phase by up to 60 percent.
The Temerario’s winter tires will be available in multiple dimensions across 20-inch and 21-inch sizes. Bridgestone plans to manufacture these tires in Europe.
Steven De Bock, Vice President Original Equipment at Bridgestone EMEA, stated, “As Lamborghini’s ‘Official Technical Partner,’ we’re very excited to continue our journey together as we push the boundaries of electrification and advance a new era of sustainable motorsports.”
The Lamborghini Temerario is described as a hybrid super sportscar featuring a twin-turbo V8 engine combined with three electric motors. It is reported to be the first production super sportscar engine capable of reaching 10,000 rpm.
In addition to the winter-focused Blizzak LM005, Bridgestone has developed a full range of tires for the Lamborghini Temerario:
Both the Potenza Sport and Potenza Race tires were custom-designed to complement the Temerario’s hybrid powertrain.
Bridgestone’s partnership with Lamborghini extends beyond the Temerario. The tire manufacturer has previously supplied custom tires for other Lamborghini models, including the Huracán STO, Tecnica, Sterrato, Huracán EVO, and the V12 Hybrid HPEV Lamborghini Revuelto.
