Shelby’s “Bundle Of Snakes” Has A Modified Ford Mustang For Everyone

98 units of each Shelby model will be made in commemoration of the founder’s birthday

  • The introduction coincides with Carroll Shelby’s 98th anniversary.

  • The new models include the Shelby GT, Shelby GT500SE, and Shelby Super Snake.

Famed racer and automotive designer, Carroll Shelby, would have turned 98 this year. To mark this anniversary, Shelby American has unleashed what they call a “Bundle Of Snakes” that includes the Shelby GT, Shelby GT500SE, and Shelby Super Snake.

Beyond the super-cool Mustang Shelby GT, Shelby is offering its Signature Edition package for the 2021 GT500. It is priced from $104,900 (including the base car) and an output boost of over 800 horsepower, suspension, and styling changes.

The most radical car is the 2021 Shelby Super Snake which earns more than 825 horsepower from the supercharged 5.0-litre V8. It can be specified with either the manual or automatic transmission and retails for $133,785.

Finally, the most spectacular is the new Shelby Super Snake Speedster. It includes a convertible tonneau, rear seat delete with harness bar, unique striping, and a wide-body package. It, like the Coupe, benefits from a Penske track suspension and is a $4,995 optional package with the convertible.

“The 2021 model year represents a significant new chapter at Shelby American,” said Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American. “This is the most diverse group of Ford Mustang-based Shelby’s in our history. While the amazing Ford Mustang is a world-class car from the factory, our team created additional models so we can offer something for everyone who dreams of owning a high-performance Shelby. From the daily driver Shelby GT to the technically sophisticated Shelby GT500 SE package and the limited-edition Shelby Super Snake Speedster, we’ve never offered so many choices.”
