Stellantis confirmed long-term investment plans for Maserati despite declining global sales volumes.
Two new larger Maserati vehicles are scheduled for future lineup expansion.
Chinese technology partnerships may support future development and production strategies.
Stellantis says it will reinforce Maserati’s future with new product investments and new vehicles, thus ending speculation about the luxury marque’s long-term position within the group.
The company confirmed plans to add two new large E-segment vehicles to Maserati’s portfolio as part of its strategic roadmap. Stellantis described Maserati as a “pure luxury brand” and said additional details about the division’s future direction will be presented in December.

The confirmation of the brand’s survival follows several difficult years for Maserati under former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. Global deliveries dropped 57% in 2024, with the brand selling approximately 11,300 vehicles during the year. Maserati’s volume remained weak in 2025, with roughly 11,127 units sold.
Maserati’s current range consists of only three core models. The Maserati Grecale serves as the entry-level offering, while the Maserati GranTurismo and convertible Maserati GranCabrio occupy the middle of the lineup. The recently introduced Maserati MCPURA remains the brand’s highest-end performance model.

Pricing across the portfolio currently spans from roughly $95,000 for the Grecale Modena to approximately US$250,000 for the MCPURA. The GranTurismo starts at just over $180,000. The addition of two new vehicles would significantly increase Maserati’s presence in the upper luxury segment, where it competes against brands including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Bentley.
Stellantis did not disclose body styles, powertrain details, production locations, or launch timing for the upcoming models. However, recent reports suggest the automaker could rely on Chinese technology partnerships to accelerate development and reduce costs.
The reported arrangement would allow Maserati to oversee vehicle design and branding while adapting products for multiple global markets. Some China-market vehicles could potentially use the Maextro luxury branding already associated with Huawei-backed premium vehicle projects.
