Subaru of America Delivers a Record 2,598 WRXs in February

The new Subaru WRX is about to reclaim its title as one of the best-selling sports cars


  • The new WRX is the most entertaining and value-packed sport compact car on the continent.

  • Back in February 2022, Subaru of America sold only 31.


We don’t talk about the Subaru WRX anywhere near enough. We’ll admit we were harsh at first when the new car was unveiled in September of 2021 but we’ve since had the pleasure of driving and reviewing it and it’s one of the best.

The internet exploded with negative comments a year and a half ago, and mea culpa, we joined in. The styling and output numbers posted for the new 2022 Subaru WRX were the sources of the virtual hate. Subaru clearly knew what it was doing as demand for its sole remaining sports compact car is soaring.

It might surprise many to learn that the WRX is globally one of the best-selling sports cars but when you scratch the Rex’s surface, it’s easy to understand why. We love it and based on Subaru of America’s sales numbers from February 2023, customers and enthusiasts have also embraced the car.

The 2,598 deliveries not only show an 8,280.7% increase over the same period last year but have become the WRX’s best-ever February in its history.
