Subaru has big plans for the Geneva Auto Show. The latest Viziv concept is just one of three new products the Japanese automaker plans to unveil next month.
The Subaru Viziv Adrenaline Concept will be joined on stage by two still unknown vehicles powered by what Subaru is calling its e-boxer hybrid engine. As for the Viziv Adrenaline, we know it will be some type of SUV but all we know for now is that it has a very agressive design.
That much is clear when looking at the teaser image Subaru released. We can point out flared fenders, a high belt line, a bulging hood and narrow side windows. We can also see that Subaru plans to use cameras in lieu of side mirrors which is typical of any concept these days.
Early reports suggest the Subaru Viziv Adrenaline will preview a small compact SUV that will slot below the Subaru Forester in the automaker’s lineup. The Forester along with the Ascent are the only two utility vehicles Subaru offers on the market right now. You could put the Outback in that group as well, but for many consumers it’s not quite the image they have in mind when thinking SUV.
Subaru is currently the only Japanese mainstream automaker that doesn’t have a subcompact or urban SUV. The segment is booming and Subaru will surely want a piece of the pie. The Viziv Adrenaline could be the first step towards a production entry-level Subaru SUV.
