Subaru Will Debut STI E-RA Concept and More at the Tokyo Auto Salon

The Subaru STI E-RA Concept may be a far more important preview than initially thought


  • They will show WRX and a Levorg STI performance concepts.

  • The STI E-RA Concept should introduce Subaru’s future performance electrification plans.

  • The same concept may also preview the next WRX STI.


Subaru’s strong Japanese and North American sales performance could be fueling something of a revolution over at the Japanese automaker. 2021 had its ups and downs what with the criticism the WRX got which was offset by the Wilderness trim and the upcoming Solterra EV but 2022 could start off with a bang with the STI E-RA Concept.

Subaru Prepares the Arrival of the STI E-RA Concept

For the 2022 edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon, Subaru will reveal the STI E-RA Concept which should introduce a performance-oriented electric powertrain. No details exist on it however we can assume that output should be fairly elevated.

Further to the STI E-RA Concept, Subaru will also launch a pair of cars in the WRX and a Levorg STI performance concepts. According to EVO, the WRX S4 STI Performance concept on display will sport a number of STI performance bits and as shown in the image, could preview what the production STI will look like.

We’re betting that Subaru fans will be keeping a close eye on everything the car company will show off at the auto show.
