Suzuki Waku Spo is a Retro Hybrid Planned for Tokyo Motor Show

North Americans may have forgotten about Suzuki, but the Japanese automaker is still very present in the auto industry elsewhere.

At this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki will be bringing a couple of concepts including the very pretty Suzuki Waku Spo. Its retro design and dual-tone exterior paint job give it an immediate “wow” factor. Whether you like it or hate it, however, is another thing.

Powering the Suzuki Waku Spo is a plug-in hybrid engine according to sources, but nobody knows the specs. It will feature what Suzuki calls a WAKU WAKU switch which can modify the body shape, front portion of the vehicle and the dashboard display.

That said, why would you ever want to change how this thing looks? Like the Honda E, the Suzuki Waku Spo oozes retro coolness.

Other vehicles planned by Suzuki include the Hanare, an autonomous pod that aims to offer passengers the same level of comfort as you would find in a cottage (a cottage is a hanare in Japanese).

The Suzuki Hustler Concept will also be unveiled in Tokyo, but for now the car we can’t wait to see is the Waku Spo. Hopefully we will learn more about its specs in the upcoming weeks, and hopefully Suzuki will bring it to market. Imagine the Waku and Jimny next to each other in your garage!
