Performance driving enthusiasts the world over know Tanner Foust. Most recognize him from his stint as a Top Gear US host but his Rallycross and stunt driving careers have also made him a near household name. He’s also been a Volkswagen brand ambassador since 2014. And now, he’s had a chance to track both the new Golf GTI and Golf R.
The brief video shared by Volkswagen USA is more of a teaser than anything. Foust is seen driving the all-new MK8 Golf GTI on the Streets of Willow (a fantastic track) for only a few moments. He then switches to the Golf R and proceeds to describe some of the super-hot-hatch’s driving functions. The video ends off with Foust heading back towards the car with a racing suit and helmet…
To us, this means another video of the new 2022 Volkswagen Golf R (and possibly GTI) being thrashed on the track is forthcoming. Despite Foust’s obvious bias, we look forward to seeing the cars being put through their paces and hearing his thoughts.
