Ten Lucky Rivian R1T Order Holders Got to Drive the Truck

A handful of early Rivian reservation holders finally got a chance to drive an R1T

  • Deliveries of the R1T truck were set to being in September.

  • If you order a new R1T or R1S today, it should be delivered next January.

  • Rivian’s 10 lucky guests got a tour of the Normal, IL. factory as well.

We admit to being quite jealous of these ten individuals (and their +1). Rivian’s R1T and R1S look extremely appealing and their specifications are just as equally promising. The only missing element is to sample the vehicles.

A group of pre-orders holders now know. And based on the brief video shared by Rivian, they enjoyed the R1T’s power, handling, and off-road capabilities. From posts found elsewhere, the ten reservation holders were also given a tour of the Normal, IL. factory where the R1T truck and R1S SUV will be assembled.

Though the video looks like a commercial for the brand, we’re convinced that those who drove the trucks are now convinced that they’ve made the right choice. In the US, the R1T Explore starts at $67,500 and, should you order one now, you can expect to receive your truck by next January.

As an automotive media, we look forward to an opportunity to review one.
