A look at this weeks comparison tests including the Tesla Model Y, Honda Passport, and BMW 8 Series.
The Tesla Model Y was the big news of the week and we went crazy with spec comparisons, putting the Model Y up against its top eventual competitors like the i-Pace as well as the Model 3. We also compared the new 2019 Honda Passport against the Chevy Blazer, and compared the new BMW 8 Series vs Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe. Let’s take a closer look.
Tesla Model Y vs Jaguar I-Pace Spec Comparison
The Tesla Model Y will start at about $25,000 less than the Jaguar I-Pace and have more range with 451 kilometers of range compared to 377 kilometers in the I-Pace. Still, the new I-Pace is the first sub-100k all-electric luxury SUV and we thought it made sense to compare with Tesla’s latest SUV.

Tesla Model Y vs Tesla Model 3 Spec comparison
Some have said that the new Model Y makes the Model 3 obsolete. It is essentially the same vehicle, but the Model Y has more interior space with nearly 2,000 liters of total cargo space. It will be a bit more expensive, however.

Tesla Model Y vs Tesla Model X Spec Comparison
How can we compare the Tesla Model Y with a vehicle that costs twice as much? Well, the real question is will people still buy a Tesla Model X now that the Model Y is coming? You could get a Model Y and and a Model S for the price of a Model X. Think about that for a second.
2019 Honda Passport vs 2019 Chevrolet Blazer
The five-seat mid-size SUV segment is heating up with two major new models now available, the 2019 Honda Passport and the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. Both named after models of the past and yet nothing like the models they are named after, the new Passport and Blazer could quickly become the best-sellers in their segment.
If you’re not sure which one is right for you, check out our Passport vs Blazer spec comparison.
BMW 8 Series vs Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The BMW 8 Series is the new kid on the block in the high-luxury coupes where it joins the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. As a replacement to the 6 Series, the new 850i xDrive is the most luxurious BMW not called 7 Series. The S-Class Coupe is the grand daddy of the high-end Mercedes-Benz lineup, and it’s normal they will be compared to each other.
