- Dual-motor Tesla Model Y Performance rated at 315 miles (505km).
- Model Y Long Range range expected to remain unchanged.
- Model 3 Long Range range recently rose to 322 miles (518km) but Consumer reports manages 350 miles (568km).
We feel like we keep repeating ourselves… Tesla’s full range of electric vehicles now offers more range. The only one we were waiting for was the all-new Tesla Model Y compact SUV and no one is surprised to learn that EPA-rated range is nothing short of impressive.
The only worthy note to add is that Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, had predicted a range that would fall somewhere between 280 and 300 miles for the Model Y. He must have thought that the SUVs slightly taller stature would negatively affect the total distance it could travel. Fact of the matter is that its size changes very little as the dual-motor Tesla Model Y Performance is rated at 315 miles (505km).
Once more, Tesla’s vehicles offer the greatest range on the market within their segments. Consumer Reports conducted a test on its own Model 3 while set in “range mode.” The result was a staggering 350 miles, or 568km.
