New Tesla Roadster to have over 625 miles of range, or more than 1,000 kilometers.
In a tweet published Thursday, Elon Musk confirmed the new Tesla Roadster will have a lot of range. More range than any other electric vehicle by a wide margin, actually. Musk confirmed over 1,000 kilometers of range, double what the current range champion Tesla Model S offers.

Tesla already dominates the range war with its three models (Model S, Model 3 and Model X) sitting in first, second and third respectively when it comes to total all-electric range. The Hyundai Kona EV comes in fourth with 415 kilometers while the Chevrolet Bolt rounds up the top 5 with 383 kilometers.
The Tesla Roadster promises to be spectacular in every possible way. Fastest production car ever on paper, it can apparently reach 100 km/h in around 2.0 seconds. In simple terms, the Tesla Roadster is faster than a Formula 1 car. It gets to 160 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
It will cost a small fortune when it arrives on the market in 2020 just after the Tesla Model Y. Tesla Roadster pre-orders are currently possible, but require a $50,000 deposit. Pricing is set at US $200,000 but the first 1,000 units will be Founder’s Series special editions with a starting price of US $250,000.
