The 2020 Karma Revero Is Getting A BMW Engine

The new generation of the luxury sedan will have a BMW engine confirmed the manufacturer.

The 2020 Karma Revero, to be unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show this month, will use a BMW 3-cylinder engine. This engine will power an on-board electric generator and improve the overall performance of the vehicle, says Karma.

“We created a world-class electric vehicle drive system that delivers the performance and packaging requirements of the new Revero,” Bob Kruse, Karma’s Chief Technology Officer said. “Alongside a series of other technological advancements, the new 2020 Revero is as fast as it looks.”

Indeed, the sedan is entitled to a significant improvement in its performance. With the help of the BMW TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder in-line engine, it will achieve the 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, nearly a second faster than the outgoing generation.

The 2020 Revero is part of the “Shanghai Big Three”, a trio of cars announcing a new era for Karma and shows the short, medium- and long-term vision of the manufacturer. One of these cars will be a concept penned by Pininfarina.

The new generation of the luxury electric sedan will be available for sale or lease from the second half of the year.

We will have all the details at the Shanghai Motor Show in a few days.
