Only 15 examples will be built.
The first one was delivered at McLaren Beverly Hills.
It holds the most powerful non-hybrid McLaren twin-turbo V8 engine to date.
If you’re reading this story, live outside of the US and are a multi-millionaire, we’ve got bad news for you: the McLaren Sabre by MSO has been homologated exclusively for the US market.
This ultra-super-hypercar is a showcase of McLaren Special Operations’ (MSO) abilities as a producer of bespoke Mclarens. Although they were instrumental in stretching design, engineering and aerodynamic conventions to new limits, the customers were also heavily involved in the development process.
Earlier last fall, Lucky and loaded Sabre customers were privy to a private track test drive of a prototype at O’Gara Motorsport organized in conjunction with McLaren Beverly Hills.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved with a number of very special cars and I’ve never seen a manufacturer give clients the level of access that McLaren Special Operations has provided for the Sabre,” commented Parris Mullins, Motorsport Director for O’Gara Motorsport.
The result is a McLaren that boasts an 824-horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque from its twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This actually makes the Sabre the most powerful non-hybrid McLaren ever. As well, its 218 mph top speed makes it the fastest-ever two-seater McLaren.
